cascade class: Setting & Playmaking

  • This clinic is built for players who want to master one of the most demanding and rewarding positions on the court. Coaches Amaya and Karina guide athletes through the technical and mental skills needed to run an effective offense - from first-touch setting fundamentals to advanced playmaking decisions under pressure. Whether stepping into the setter role for the first time or refining high-level technique, this class meets players where they are.

    Players will develop:

    •  Proper hand position, contact mechanics, and consistent setting accuracy

    • Footwork and platform mechanics for serve receive and back-row defense

    • Court vision and target awareness to maximize offensive options

    • Quick decision-making in 5-1 and 6-2 offensive systems

    • Back-set, jump-set, and combination play techniques

    • Communication skills and leadership from the setter position

  • All Levels •  Ages 12–18

cascade class: Defensive Specialist Training

  • The back row is where rallies are won and lost. Coaches Sara and Amaya’s Defensive Specialist Training is designed for liberos, defensive specialists, and any athlete who wants to become a more reliable, fearless defender. Sessions are run with high repetition and position-specific drills on the Courthouse's professional-grade court, with immediate feedback on platform mechanics, movement patterns, and court reading.

    Players will develop:

    • Passing platform mechanics and body positioning for serve receive

    • Reading hitters and early movement for first-ball contact

    • Digging technique for hard-driven balls, cut shots, and tips

    • Libero-specific rules, rotational awareness, and floor coverage systems

    • Defensive calling, communication, and team organization from the back row

    • Transition mechanics: passing to target and resetting quickly after defense

  • All Levels •  Ages 12–18

cascade class: Outside Attack & Offense

  • Attacking from the outside pin is one of the highest-impact skills in volleyball and one of the most technical. Coaches Karina, Elena and Addison specialize in developing hitters who can create offense consistently from both the left-side pin and middle positions. The focus is on approach footwork, explosive arm swing mechanics, and intelligent shot selection that keeps defenses off-balance.

    Players will develop:

    • Four-step approach timing, footwork sequencing, and body positioning at the net

    • Explosive arm swing mechanics and wrist snap for power and directional control

    • Cross-court and line hitting angles against various block formations

    • Off-speed shots: roll shots, cut shots, and tips over and around the block

    • Transition offense: attacking efficiently after playing back-row defense

    • Reading the block and adjusting attack trajectory mid-approach balls, cut shots, and tips

  • All Levels •  Ages 12–18

cascade class: Front Row Fundamentals

  • The middle blocker and right-side positions demand explosive athleticism, quick decision-making, and highly technical footwork. Coaches Elena and Addison bring complementary front-row expertise to this high-energy clinic. With both coaches on court during peak availability, athletes benefit from individualized attention during the repetition-based skill work that builds real-match confidence at the net.

    Players will develop:

    • Blocking footwork: crossover steps, slide steps, and seam-closing technique

    • Reading the setter and anticipating attack zones for early block positioning

    • Hand penetration and wrist control for effective ball deflection

    • Quick-attack arm swing for middle hitter approaches (31, 51, slide)

    • Right-side approach angles and back-row right-side attack combinations

    • Transition between front-row blocking and offensive roles in game-like play

  • All Levels •  Ages 12–18

cascade clinic: Complete Court Development

  • Complete Court Development is the flagship multi-coach session offered when the full coaching staff is on-site simultaneously. This class brings together all position specialists — setting, outside attack, middle blocking, and right-side hitting — to run integrated, game-like training. Athletes rotate through position-specific stations before converging for full-team competitive drills that mirror match conditions.

    Session highlights:

    • Position-specific rotation stations with each specialist coach

    • Integrated offensive and defensive system drills (5-1 and 6-2 systems)
